Riley doesn't skip a beat.
Well, except that he does.
He just looks at her an awed moment--because, really? she's smart and witty and beautiful like that and she wants to be with him?--and then he leans in and says, "Beautiful, Chloe. I mean it," against her collarbone before he runs his lips over it.
